Traits: the one permanent decision
Ten traits, chosen at character creation, never changeable. Traits don't unlock actions — they change how fast things grow. That makes the choice a career decision in disguise: pick the trait that matches the skill family your target careers train.
| Trait | Effect | Feeds these careers |
|---|---|---|
| Hustler | Hustle skill grows faster; bosses notice | Trading, Hairstyling, Event Planning, Civil Service |
| Tech Bro / Sis | Coding grows faster | Tech — and unlocks Product Management's Coding 3 gate |
| Smooth Talker | Charisma grows faster; socials land better | Banking, Law, Real Estate, Content Creator, Retail |
| Gym Rat | Fitness grows fast; workouts feel good | Nursing, Fitness Coach, Medicine, Aviation |
| Musical | Music skill grows faster | Music, DJ |
| Foodie | Cooking learns fast; food extra enjoyable | Chef |
| Owambe Spirit | Parties and dancing go better; bores quicker | Social play rather than a career |
| Night Crawler | Loves nightlife | Music, DJ — the night shifts |
| Lazy Bone | Energy lasts longer; work suffers a bit | Any — the comfort pick |
| Clean Pikin | Hygiene drops slower | Any — quality of life |
First-character picks with the best runway: Hustler, Tech Bro/Sis or Smooth Talker — the reasoning is in the FAQ. This table first appeared in our illustrated walkthrough; it lives here now with the training numbers attached.
Skills: the seven levers
The careers run on seven known skills — Coding, Charisma, Music, Hustle, Fitness, Cooking, Comedy — and every promotion checks them. The standard ladder asks skill 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 for ranks 2 through 5 (with a full performance meter); the six gated careers want skill 3 before you can apply, then 4 / 5 / 7 / 9. Translation: skill is never wasted — even a career switch keeps every point you have trained, while rank resets to one. Skills are your permanent wealth; ranks are just the current expression of it.
Training: the 4x gap nobody reads
The trap: working shifts feels like progress, but an on-shift hour trains at roughly 0.35 skill points. Dedicated activities run far ahead — the community's measured examples for Music:
| Activity | Points | Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Play Piano (grand) | 1.9 | Needs the ₦12,000,000 grand piano — endgame |
| Write a Banger | 1.6 | Music 3 + a ₦4,200 guitar |
| Host a Piano Recital | 1.5 | Music 5 |
| Practice Guitar | 1.3 | Needs the guitar |
| Sing in Choir / Open Mic | 0.9 | Free — open mic pays at Music 2 |
| Working a shift | ~0.35 / hour | The trap — feels productive, trains slowly |
The same shape holds for other skills: dedicated, sometimes paid activities beating passive grind by 3–5×. Multipliers stack on top — a matching trait, mood above 40, the Fast Learner reward, and the LAPO Baby start all boost gains. Exact per-skill activity tables beyond Music are still being verified in-game: [待补:非 Music 技能的专项训练清单] — published when read, not invented.
Putting it together
- Pick trait → career family → skill. Smooth Talker → Banking → Charisma. The chain decides everything downstream.
- Work shifts for money, train off-shift for promotion. They are different activities with different payoffs.
- Buy the cheap training gear early (the ₦4,200 guitar pays for itself in one promotion) — see the money guide.
- Check the numbers before you commit: the pay calculator shows what each rung of the ladder actually pays per week, after Saturday rent.
